Student Mobility in the Context of Bilateral Agreements

The bilateral agreements that the Mozarteum University Salzburg maintains with some international universities makes it possible for students to spend periods of study outside Europe. A period of study at a partner university lasts one semester up to a maximum of one academic year.

The application has to be submitted to the International Relations Office at the Mozarteum. In principle the deadline for applications is 15 March for the following academic year. However, in some cases this may have to be brought forward depending on the dates of the semesters at the relevant partner university. Students are exempt from paying study fees. The course of study completed abroad is fully recognized.

Mozarteum University grants an allowance towards the travel expenses.

Preparation for the counselling interview:
  • Select your preferred universities (applications are only possible to universities from our list of current partner institutions).
  • Observe the application deadline
  • Familiarise yourself with the application procedure (any questions that arise can then be clarified in the counselling interview)

Submission of the application:
An application is possible at a maximum of 3 universities of choice. All application documents must be submitted to the International Office of the Mozarteum University as well as to the 3 universities of choice.

  • Bewerbungsblatt
  • Examination pass (to be requested from the study revision/Bologna process)

The following documents must also be uploaded in EASY:
  • Proof of academic achievement/Transcript of records
  • Letter of recommendation from the main subject teacher (in English for non-German-speaking countries)
  • Video recordings (YouTube etc.) or a portfolio (stage design, visual arts, art and craft pedagogy)
  • Curriculum vitae (in English or in the respective national language)
  • Letter of motivation (in English or in the respective national language).

Contact the university of your choice and submit your application in the respective application tool.

Completed after an acceptance:
Mandatory for the scholarship:
  • Complete the „Voraus-Anerkennung“ form (page 1-2 for the study abroad programme) in full, indicating the subjects, hours and/or ECTS credit points, and hand it in at the International Office.
  • Complete the Liability Release Agreement form in full and hand it in to the International Office (this is a personalised form and will be sent to you by us).
  • Complete and sign the Learning Agreement in EASY (inform yourself about the courses offered at the university of your choice)
  • Antrag auf Erlass des Studienbeitrags (for the study department)
  • Meldungsblatt (for the study department)
  • Payment of the prescribed ÖH fee at the Mozarteum University
  • Notification of the main subject teacher(s) about the absence

The following documents are necessary for the application:
  • Letter of recommendation from the teacher of the main subject
  • Recordings of three-four works of various styles via links (instrumental subjects and singing), video recordings via links (drama, conducting and dance educational theory), Portfolio as a single PDF (stage design, art and craft educational theory)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Proof of successful course achievement / Transcript of records (for Master’s degree courses a Bachelor certificate has to be submitted)
  • Letter of motivation
