Kai Bachmann

Kai Bachmann was born in 1965 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany, and moved with his family to Mexico at the age of 10, where he received a musical education through private lessons and later at the State Conservatory of Music in Mexico City. In 1984, he obtained the Certificado de Bachillerato as well as the German Abitur at the German School Alexander von Humboldt in Mexico City. 

In 1990 he completed his diploma in composition at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with distinction. He also studied musicology and Spanish at the Paris Lodron University in Salzburg, where he completed his doctorate in musicology in 1999. He worked at the Richter Herf Institute for basic musical research at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and at the research network Humans and Music. He is currently an assistant professor at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and a member of the Vice Rectorate for Research and Development.
